July 6th - Playgrounds

(Editors' Note: The students had off this morning so our daughter agreed to write about her morning with her brother and a NZ friend on a new Lincoln playground.)

High up in a Pirate Ship Nest

So there I was being attacked by two little kid's shoes while swinging and relaxing on a pirate ship nest.  Before that happened, I was enjoying playing on the new playground in Lincoln, NZ.  I enjoyed this new playground so much that it was the best playground that I have ever been to. The playgrounds in New Zealand are different and the same as those found in the United States (Gainesville, FL) in particular.

Differences - playgrounds in New Zealand have ropes (lots), flying foxes (zip liens), teter-totters, mountain climbing walls and lots of climbing structures; playgrounds in Florida are more simple, they have monkey bar extraveganzas, cave tunnels, big rock walls, basic slides, balance beams, hanging bars, pseudo sea-saws, and small platforms to hop along.  Similarities between the two country's playgrounds include swing bridges, monkey bars, climbing ladders, swings, climbing structures, small rock walls, slides, tunnels, and platforms.

I love the NZ playgrounds more than the ones in Florida because they have more things to climb on, they have zip lines, and they are not simple - there are more choices.  Oh yeah, I was just kidding about being attacked by shoes.  It just made for a more exciting introduction.  See you on the playground, Tupelo :  )
